The Power Of Patience
Start us off in regards to how have you seen patience play a part in your life? What kind of roads it’s taking you along?
Valuing Patience
I believe patience is something that you have to embrace.
Traveling, being overseas, they value patience more than over here in a first world country, like the States. And what I mean by that…
Yeah. So fast.
Since everything’s so fast, if I’m hungry, I go to a fast food, boom, I can get something to eat. I’m not going to cook.
Overseas, they have fast food, but at a certain time, restaurants close down. If you don’t eat at that time, you got to learn how to cook. You know what I mean? So it’s something different.
But since we live in this fast-paced society, I want it now, I want be MJ now, I want to be Kobe now, I want to be LeBron now, and then that’s why parents get discouraged.
That’s why the athletes get discouraged because the patience/process is what they’re missing.
You need to embrace that process. It’s a journey. Because everybody, I would say probably about 90% of people are playing the destination game. Meaning…
I want to be a basketball player, I’m going to get in the court, hire coach. And then I’m going to do it for, let’s say, three months. And after three months, if I don’t get that result, it wasn’t for me.
I think that’s the wrong mindset to go into any sport. I think if you want to invest in a sport, go into it with a mindset, “Okay. Am I going to like this or not?”
But if you have your mind made up, “Hey, I want to be a basketball player,” or, “Hey, I want to be a football player,” embrace the process.
Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook
