In this video post, we explain why the results are the results. This will help you get results if you want to be successful in the game of basketball.
Are You Buying Into The Process?
It’s my responsibility as a former player and a coach to put you in the best position to succeed. If you didn’t need us out here, you would play without us.
There’s times where we don’t say anything because we see the game on different levels. We see the game 2, 3, 4, 5 moves ahead and try to put you in position to compete and position to succeed.
But you have an idea of what the game is or how you are supposed to play the game. And at the end of the day the result is the results.
If what we are saying is not working and what you are doing isn’t working, then you got to go back to the drawing board and see what’s working? Because what we are trying to do when we say, “Move the basketball, make them play defense, share the ball so you can try the defense out.” And then you are trying to dribble through five people to get a floater, shoot over three people. That’s not playing the game.
What NOT To DO!!!
“You know what, screw the coach I’m going to do what I want to do. I’m going to go out here and pat my stats.”
That’s what you are doing. Instead of playing the game. You don’t understand scoring is easy once you understand the game. When you understand the game scoring is easy.
You guys got so much value in scoring that you’re not playing defense, getting any rebounds, moving the ball, trying to get any of your teammates involved. You guys are solely focused on scoring. And that’s why the result is the result.
Because the thing is, guys, when you guys start playing that selfish type of basketball, then when somebody had to touch the ball in many possessions, as soon as they get it’s a disease, it’s the virus. They will say, “Yo, I’m shooting it. I’m touching it now, I’m shooting. I haven’t touched it in five possessions, I’m shooting it.” That’s why it’s important to get everybody in involved. You got to make your teammates feel part of the game. You got to make your teammates feel part of the team. You don’t want to do that.
You are cliquish inside the team. Coming down looking for my best friend. “Oh, let me.” They got two people open, but looking for my best friend. And then when your teammate needs help, then you ain’t even trying to help him. Your attitude is, “Oh, figure it out on your own.”
This s*** is obvious. It’s cliquish out there and you are not going to be successful. Rather you’re on this team or any other team. You got to be able to bring your teammates together. You talk about being a leader and stepping up. When you going to step up? That’s part of being a leader is being able to shrug some of the burden.
Putting In The Work…
You want the shine without the grind. That’s what it’s. You want to go out and post that s*** on Instagram, Facebook, go tell your girlfriend, boyfriend, other people at your school. “Yo I scored 20 points.” Nobody cares.
I don’t see Sports Center out here. This is a developmental platform where you can raise your IQ of basketball so we can get you to the next level. That’s what this is about. But you guys are trying to skip the developmental part and get to the next step. It doesn’t work like that. You can’t shortcut the game. You cheat the game it’s going to cheat you back. That’s how it works.
The shitty feeling that you’re feeling, that’s part of it. Because when you’re winning, that’s part of it too. You got to get in your mind that if you want to be a part of this game, you have to take the good and the bad. And if you don’t want to be a part of this game, then continue to do what you’re doing. And the results will be the results.
Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook
