How to Being Taken Serious As A Basketball Player

In this video, we talk about how to be taken seriously as a basketball player. You may be thinking that you are being taken seriously, I’m going to share with you the most important so that you can be taken seriously….

How Do You Be Taken Seriously As A Basketball Player?

This is what happens, after games players will run to the stat sheet and see how much points they scored. And noticed I said, they look how much points they scored, not at the scoreboard.

This is a terrible mentality and we need to raise a vibration in the sport of basketball because it is a team game. How to you be taken seriously as a basketball player?

When you come to practice and are coachable, they are sharing information with you, showing you skills, trying to develop you.

But after practice, that’s it. You go home about your day, do your homework, get on social media, play your video games, your Fortnite.

I’m talking about all athletes, grown men who are getting home, “Hey, let’s play 2K when we get back to the crib.” This happens after practice, but how do you be taken seriously?

Are You Staying After Practice?

What you are learning in practice afterwards, start fine-tuning those skills. Put more hours and more time into that.

If you are not able to dribble with your left hand, stay after practice another 10, 20 minutes and learn how to dribble with your left hand.

If you don’t know how to finish around the basket, you need to stay another 10, 20, 30mins, an hour to learn how to finish around the basket.

The point is when you are in school and the teacher gives you homework from what they taught you in class. You’ll go do your homework and you won’t think nothing about it. You’ll go do your homework and turn it in.

When it comes to the game of basketball, when the coach is teaching you something, you will go play your video games. Players aren’t valuing practice, they’re not valuing what they are learning in practice, but want to be able to perform in the game.

If you don’t have the confidence to do it in practice, you’re not going to have the confidence do it in the game. Here’s why, because there’s going to be fans, other team who’s trying to win, competitions, your boyfriend or girlfriend, your parents. All type of distractions.

Now you will have all these voices in your head and you are not prepared because you haven’t been doing the work.

If you want to be taken serious as a basketball player, you’re going to have to practice outside of practice and make more time.

You won’t be able to practice and be off then do whatever. No, you got to practice and whatever you learned in practice, work on that homework you would do if you were in a class rather than you’re in school.

Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook
