Practice NEEDS to Be Harder than the Game
You gotta get in a mindset and understand the way you practice is the way you play. For some reason, you have it backwards.
I’m a victim of this because… how old you think I am? I used to be your age and I thought the same way. To say “I’m going to save it for the game.”
No, it doesn’t work like that. I’m sharing with you, “as the old guy“,
If you want to be successful in games, you have to practice. There’s no way around it. The way you practice is the way you play. If you come to practice and you half ass practice, that’s how you’re going to play.
There is no secret. I can come out here and teach you different drills, tips, etc. but if you are not putting the effort in practice, it’s not going to translate to the game.
It’s really that simple. I’m not here trying to teach you rocket science, I’m teaching you basketball. And I share that with you because it’s the same concept in life. If you half ass in life and don’t take things serious in life, those results are going to show up in your life too.
How Are You Showing Up?
Homework… relationship with your parents, siblings, etc. is going to show up. You gotta give effort if you want effort back.
I’ll tell you, the game of basketball it will take you places. It’s a vehicle that could take you places if you show it some love. If you don’t show any love, then you ain’t going to get any love back.
You WILL to start playing the blame game. “Oh, it was coach’s fault. Oh, the player’s fault. Oh, it was my parents’ fault.” No. You got to be accountable of your own actions.
Your parents aren’t out here practicing, you are. Your coaches are not here practicing, you are. Even if you have bad coaches, you still can control your effort.
Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook
